(More customer reviews)I bought this for my younger brother, who is very interested in Transformers, to show him a little bit of what it was like when I was younger. When I received the package I was pleased to see that hidden references riddled the packaging reminding me of my girl years when I played with toys religiously. I gave him the package and, although transforming it was pretty advanced for his level, it worked out well. Any piece that broke off from the struggle was easily put back into place and nearly impossible to break. I'm so glad I purchased this product as it was a great bonding time with the younger one and a good flashback for me.

This figure also draws on a more classic transformation while still drawing on the new movie "mesh" of metal parts. He is fun, intricate, simple, and overall, a good figure. If you can't stand the bright blue paintjob then get his Armorhide Repaint. He is worth all of twenty dollars.

Transformers SILVERSTREAK G1 Commemorative Series III Review

(More customer reviews)In case you don't remember, this is a reissue of the classic G-1 Bluestreak. I was told that they lost the rights to the name, and that's why they renamed him Sliverstreak... Well, since there was little blue on the original anyway, it doesn't matter. For the most part, it's a dead-pan perfect reissue. The joints are tight, the stickers look great, and it's quite the ride back to the 2nd grade! My only beefs are the weapons. The japanese reissues were originally silver, and could fire, but alas...
All in all, great reissue for the American fans. Looking forward to more to come!

Don't buy this if you think it is a real watch! It is not. It will read 5:17 ALL the time. At least it was a cheap lesson to learn.

Transformers Movie RoboVision Optimus Prime Review

(More customer reviews)Currently, there are two versions of Optimus Prime available: The Voyager class, and Leader class. The "Robovision Optimus Prime" happens to be a metallic repaint of the voyager class figure, and was sold exclusively at Target for $19.99. In robot mode, Robivison Prime stands at 8 inches in height, as compared to the 12 inch Leader figure.
But, size is not the only thing separating these figures, as transformations are completely different. For Leader prime, the front grill in truck mode, converts to the bottom parts of the robot's feet. The robot feet in Robovison Prime, are tucked away behind the truck's cab. Also, the smoke stacks in Robovision can convert into laser rifles - a feature that isn't available in the Leader class.
As for design, I would say that the Robovision Prime seems more accurate of a representation to the movie character, in robot mode. Much of the bulk in the leader class version, has been trimmed down in Robovision Prime, producing a more streamlined figure. Also, Robovision prime has light piping in the eyes. Just place the figure below any strong light source (a bulb), and the eyes will light up. This also, isn't available in the Leader version.
However, because of Robovision Prime's smaller scale, much of the articulation that is found in the Leader version has been sacrificed. Individual fingers are unable to move, and the legs don't pose very well. Also, while the leader figure is bulkier, the transformation in that figure from truck-to-robot mode, seems to be more accurate to the movie character, as compared to Robovision Prime.
*Just a note that I didn't contradict myself: Robovision Prime has a more accurate look in robot mode, while Leader Prime has a more accurate transformation sequence.
All in all, despite some problems, Robovision Prime is definitely worth the buy, that is, if you can find it in Target. I won't recommend buying this toy at online vendors, since a lot of sellers seem to practice price gouging where this toy is concerned. An online price of $45 online is just ridiculous.
Robovision Prime was produced in limited quantity, which makes it great for collectors. Also, since this is a collector's toy, I certainly would not recommend it for children. Instead, get the "cyber stomping Optimus Prime" for the wee ones.

The toy is approximately 5 1/2 inches tall and comes with the red flames on the chest and legs as portrayed in the movie. Very cool for being such a small figure, but overall good quality. Also comes with a detachable gun you can place on his right arm.

Transformers Japanese Tomy Takara Re-Issue Renewal Encore #12 Metroplex Review

(More customer reviews)I expected this to be much bigger. I guess when your nine this thing is huge...not so much now.
Even so, the figure is pretty impressive once you finish applying the decals (I LOVE decals! [no, seriously]) with details like skyscrapers, a helipad and ramps. Three modes (city, mobile fortress and robot) give very distinct aspects of the character and new ways of posing/displaying it (I hadn't even known about the mobile fortress mode until I read about it in a book a few years ago).
It also comes with a transformable scout car, two missile firing cannons, two non-firing cannons, a tank, and the parts to form a conning tower for the helipad. The four cannons and conning tower also combine to make another robot. That's four figures (counting the tank) for the price of one! I really wish I had had this when I was a kid, even if would be nothing but spare parts now ( as many can attest).
This is definitely worth adding to a collection.

Let me start by saying I purchased this at full price, 24.99. My husband was making fun of me when he opened the box and saw how little there was to the game. This was marked down just before Christmas to 7.95! I was a little worried that it might be junk. BUT- my son LOVES this toy. He got tons of stuff for Christmas but this one seems to be his favorite. He wants to play it over and over and over again. I suppose I got my money out of it. Note: The blue guy knocks over the gray guy every time. The gray one is much easier knocked off.

(More customer reviews)Its a sad day in Transformers history when it can be compared to Pokemon. Well lets try and push that thought behind and get to the toys. Of the 3 sets of minicons released this has got to be the coolest set of minicons out there. If you remember the days of the Headmasters than you will remember that those guys did not have alot of articulation and you wouldnt expect it from the size of those toys. But not only do these toys have better posability, they can all combine!! Thats right not only can they change from aircrafts to robots, they can change into a sword called StarSaber. And if you have Scourge you can have him hold the StarSaber. The only problem with these 3 guys is that its not very durable. Parts can fall off so I do not recommend giving these to small children...and in my case a kid that refuse to grow up...because you put some pressure on them and you can snap some parts off and because they are so small you can have trouble finding them again. But if you do snap them off you can easily put them it back together granted you didnt break it.
Overall I would give it a B but I would not recommend it for small children. Would have gotten an A if it the parts were a little bit more durable.

Life Like Racing Nascar Champions Electric Racing set #9671 Review

(More customer reviews)Wow! I'm in my late 30's and I used to play with these type of race tracks when I was younger....Now days, like most everything, the quality has greatly improved. The cars really hug the track. I can't believe how fast these cars go and stay on the track. Also, the colors and numbers are fun because you can relate to them with the real guys driving on TV.
I definately recommend this toy to most anyone. My daughter, who is 3 1/2 even enjoys playing. There is not many toys that a father and daughter can play together. It's tough for her to get the hang of the trigger throttle, but she eventually does. The game does get boring after a while for the older kids, but it's NASCAR racing....what do you expect

Marvel Mega Morphs Series 2: Ghostrider Review

(More customer reviews)We purchased the Ghost Rider, Hulk and Captain America for my son for Chrismas. He likes them becasue they look cool. We are very disappointed in the quality and the ease changing them from a robot to a vehicle. They are suppose to compete with Transformers, but they fail on all levels.
First the instructions are too difficult to follow. I was only able to fiqure out the Hulk. That was becasue there were only about 4 moves to make it change. The extra pieces that attach to the robots constantly fall off. The little men that go in the robots won't stay in their compartments and their heads and legs/arms keep coming apart.
Do yourself a favor and stick with the Transformers.
