Transformers Animated Leader - Bulkhead Review

Transformers Animated Leader - Bulkhead
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This version of Transformers Animated Bulkhead is every bit the lovable lunk from the cartoon. As with the other Animated Leader figures I've purchased, I find no issue with the quality of construction of Bulkhead.
Although he lacks any sort of spring-loaded projectiles or features a-la Optimus's axe, this figure has plenty of gizmos to keep the kids entertained. Each hand has a special feature, be it a grapple claw or spinning saw blade, and there are four detachable rockets for folks that just have to launch something!
Robot mode is enhanced by the Headmaster accessory that changes the expressions used when you press the sound effects button. The Headmaster feature really does make this toy a three-in-one hit.
Conversion is easy and all pieces fit snugly. Bulkhead's truck mode is a better vehicle than the Optimus truck mode, in my opinion, as all wheels engage easily and roll rather than skidding across the floor.
All said, I think Leader Class Bulkhead is the best of the Animated bunch so far considering quality of construction, ease of transformation, extra features, and fun in both conversion modes.

It's hard not to like BULKHEAD. Despite being huge and strong, he's the kindest, most gentle of the AUTOBOTS®, and he always has other people's best interests at heart. He's also a klutz. That's why it's so terrifying when the HEADMASTER takes over his body. BULKHEAD regularly engages in wholesale property damage purely by accident. With the HEADMASTER in charge of his body, will anyone be able to stop the tide of destruction?Change this green machine from menacing robot mode to armored truck mode and back again! Robot mode features a spinning buzzsaw and a claw that opens and closes. Aim the removable air torpedoes in both modes! This dynamic AUTOBOT figure has electronic lights and speech, and a head that moves and changes expression when he "talks". Place the HEADMASTER helmet on the robot's head and its voice and light color changes! Use your imagination and your advanced-conversion skills when you add this all-green warrior to your TRANSFORMERS collection.

Hasbro Star Wars Transformers - Anakin Starfighter Review

Ok so I bought this tonite for my son. I figured I take it out of the package and transform it into Anakin. Yeah, I needed the directions. Which is ok, I expected that. But I've spent the last 2 hours looking at them, trying to decide if maybe somehow they put this one together wrong. It doesn't seem to want to flip where it shows it should. Maybe the directions are wrong? Maybe I'm wrong? Anyway I have done it a couple of times and I can see the plastic starting to stress, so I may have to take it back for a different one.
I feel silly, it's a kids toy that shouldn't be THAT complicated, so I'm really hoping it's the toy and not me being dumb.
So, just read the directions first. That's all.

Space battle during the Clone Wars is certainly a harrowing experience, especially for the most gifted pilot in the galaxy, Anakin Skywalker. Anakin is given some of the most challenging flight missions of any Jedi and handles them with great ease. Using the power of the Force, Anakin changes into Jedi Starfighter mode and takes on an entire squadron of droid tri-fighters by himself.
This amazing Star Wars figure converts from Jedi Starfighter vehicle to Jedi knight mode and back! Includes two projectile lightsabers and Anakin Skywalker pilot figure. Measures 7" tall.

1st of all. this is NOT a toy for your over-fed over-pampered single-digit year olds(u dun wan toddlers putting the small parts into their mouths). Its mainly targeted at TF collectors. I bought it and I thought it was one of the best valued collections i ever got. It was fun putting it together and as much as i hate stick-on decals, i still went thru wif it and put together one amazing piece of work. This will go in together with all my other primes/convoys in the glass display.
No doubt its flimsy, its not not gonna last u thru ur childhood years, but as i said, its not for kids to mess around with. its more for collection and display and the occasional tinkering. I still think its a worthwhile purchase. just keep it away from children.

Transformers Universe Deluxe Figure G1 Starscream Review

Transformers Universe Deluxe Figure G1 Starscream
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
When I was a wee tot, I lived, breathed, and dreamed Transformers. The iconic battles of good and evil between giant robots... the animation and voice acting was really pretty good and mostly holds up even today. Of course, I had the toys, mostly, but never had any of the Decepticon seekers.
Now I'm an adult, and I can buy my own toys.
Starscream is an important player in the Transformers TV continuity, along with Megatron and Soundwave, so you've got to have him. He is best known for being a simpering coward, although after rewatching the series I notice that he has a very scientific bent when not begging for mercy. His toy is a nice jet; the coloring is cartoony, but of course it must be. His missiles fire a good distance, maybe three feet or so. His robot form is good looking, the head actually looks like the TV character (!!!), and only his guns come off (a big improvement over missing hands, missing wings, etc.)
The transform is somewhat difficult, as the fists swing inside the arms and can be difficult to get out, and the nosecone executes a complicated folding maneuver to transform to robot. The end result is quite impressive, as my Gen 1 toys never really looked like their TV characters, but this one does. My only complaints are that the figure is entirely plastic (in the good old days, our toys were made of steel so that we could club each other with them), and that my Starscream has loose joints already. I think these new ones are made to pop apart rather than break, but seeing his form go limp occasionally is just ... disappointing.
My opinion is that if you always wished to have the Decepticon seekers, this toy will fulfill your 25 year long dream. I have fun playing with it with my son (although he can't transform it) and it is quite poseable on my display shelf. Along with Acid Storm and Skywarp, he leads many sorties against battle damaged Autobots, hot wheels, and assorted barbies that my kids have collected.

The much-feared General Grievous has trained with the evil Count Dooku in the art of lightsaber combat. Using unorthodox fighting methods, such as a furious 4-lightsaber assault, Grievous has managed to cut down several Jedi Knights. Now, Grievous changes into wheel-bike mode to engage and destroy Obi-Wan Kenobi and the remaining Jedi.
This amazing Star Wars figure converts from wheel bike mode to Jedi-battling, droid army commander. Features 2 launching projectile lightsabers. Measures 7".

I am 11yrs old and got this as a gift. I have enjoyed it, it is not meant for little kids because you need to be able to take apart and put back together.Once you get the hang of it, it is easy to transform. You just need to remember where the pieces belong on the transformer. I believe that this toy would be enjoyed by other kids my age also.

Undermine is,like all of the "Jungle planet" Decepticons,a lizard.the other jungle planet decepticons are Scourge,Brimstone, and Wreckloose. Now undermine is a very sturdy little dinosaur.he may not have the best poseability, but he is loads of fun to play with. His robot mode head resembles a knights helmet from the middle ages.in dinosaur mode,he transforms into a nasty (in a good way) little green Spinosaur. His "cyber key gimmick" is actually very nice, you insert the key into his back fin,and a big grey, nicely detailed blade slides out of the fin.this little guy is a very nice figure, worth the money, and i highly reccommend him to any transformers fan

Transformers Classic Mini-Con 3-Pack - Night Rescue Team (Strongarm, Divebomb & Firebot) Review

Transformers Classic Mini-Con 3-Pack - Night Rescue Team (Strongarm, Divebomb and Firebot)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
You can always trust for there to be emergency vehicle Autobot, and now they have come to us as Mini-Cons.
The fire truck, FIREBOT, is the best of the three. It's not hard to transform, as long as you remember that what the hoses are attached to are the arms and they need to be pulled out before you do anything else to transform the bot. For a Mini-Con it has nice poseability in robot mode, especially in that you can move the hoses/guns to different positions.
STRONGARM is a brick that poses as a police car, and is very hard to transform. There is nothing intuitive about the transformation, and you'd better have a mini-flathead screwdriver handy to pry open parts, and hope that you are prying the right places. Even if you get it into robot mode, it is nothing special.
DIVEBOMB is the helicopter. The piece under the canopy will always be falling off the main robot. The transformation is an "interesting" experience, having to manage transforming everything at once with its legs and arms, and in robot you have the main copter blade being a beanie.
They tried too hard to make inventive transformations, and the robots suffered for it. If it wasn't that I like emergency vehicle Transformers, I would have probably rated it a 2.

Intending to flesh out the Classics continuity, the Mini-Con Night Rescue Team carry an overall Defensor semblance---and are most likely able to apply their rescue techniques during the day as well as night. Strongarm is the police vehicle, stout and durable as a robot. Divebomb is the helicopter, with an extremely nonlinear robot mode. Firebot (a name once allotted to one of the Playskool Go-Bots) is the fire truck, with heavy shoulder plates and arm-mounted cannons. The character description for the Night Rescue Team cites the youthful disposition of the three Mini-Cons and the inherit fearlessness that comes from their inexperience. Theyâ?TMre known for headlong dashes into the heart of danger, dutifully going that extra mile to get the job done. Putting the T-E-A-M in â??teamâ?TM. Going for the gold. Giving 150%. Jolt was another Transformer that was on our son's Christmas list. We actually found him at Target and ToysRus but not in the Fast action battlers version. My husband and I decided that we would start buying fast action battlers if we could due to the durability and easiness of transforming the toy. In the past we had bought the regular transformers and we'd have a leg or a door panel missing. It wasn't until just recently we learned of the fast action battlers and let me tell you....they are the best! Thank you Amazon for carrying these! When no one else had these, Amazon delivered! Fabulous product!

Intending to flesh out the Classics continuity, the Mini-Con Demolition Team is utilized as a squad of sappers. These warriors have a heavy Decepticon feel to them. In vehicle Wideload looks a little like the green dump truck incarnation of Energon Demolishor, though his robot mode is less linear. Sledge is a scavenging dozer, with bulky claw appendages in robot mode. Broadside is just a straight tank, a ground crunching monster with massive treads and a revolving gun turret. The Demolition Team is described as having first specialized in all aspects of engineering in order to better annihilate a target. They haunt ruined and devastated locations, crawling among the rubble with â??napalm in the morningâ? victorious zeal. During battles, they tunnel beneath fortifications in order to bypass fortifications and brazenly usurp enemy positions.

Transformers Hunt for the Decepticons Scout Class Action Figure Oil Pan Review

Transformers Hunt for the Decepticons Scout Class Action Figure Oil Pan
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I think I was sold on the paint job first. Electric tangerine with white speed stripes down the side and black trim. Oil Pan is a repaint of Breakdown. The car appears to be based on a Lamborghini.
His transformation is a bot tricky the first few times, but clever and gives him a bit of a different look that other scout class car-robots. He does however end up with a bit of a backpack in robot mode. I love the look of the orange, white and black with purple. Brings back a lot of touches of the original 80s Stunticons and other Decepticon sports cars. Oddly his Decepticon symbol is a G1 era symbol and not a movie style symbol. Oil pan is fairly posable for a scout.
He's a well built, durable toy perfect for kids, maybe even younger children and certainly worth it if you can find him for a reasonable price (around 5 bucks). Adult collectors may pass, especially if they already own Breakdown but if you can get a deal on him why not add the little cremesicle to your shelf?
And remember parents: If you don't like challenging your children, BUY AGE APPROPRIATE.

Transformers Movie Series 2 Deluxe Class 6 Inch Tall Robot Action Figure - Autobot GEARS with Lever Activated Auto-Punch Attack (Vehicle Mode : SUV) Review

Transformers Movie Series 2 Deluxe Class 6 Inch Tall Robot Action Figure - Autobot GEARS with Lever Activated Auto-Punch Attack (Vehicle Mode : SUV)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Gears is an odd little throwback to his G1 counterpart. Now a silver Cadillac Escalade SUV as opposed to a bright blue and red Penny Racer styled pickup. He displays the Transformers RoTF bots' tendency to be 'robots in disguise' while being flashing cars with very noticeable custom paint jobs. I mean he's got an Autobot symbol on his hood the sames size as his tires. Not very well disguised eh?
His transformation is probably the simplest of all the Movie line Deluxe Class Transformers. I'm not sure if this is some sort of homage to how simple his 1984 G1 version was or just lazy toy designers. Whatever the reason he does at least reflect his G1 version as their robot mode paint schemes are the same blue and red coloring and similar head sculpts (albeit a bit abstractly). For a fairly simple vehicle exterior and transformation, his robot mode has a lot of details sculpted into him. His gear-driven super punch gimmick is pretty cool and he has articulated hands. Due to the placement of the piece behind his head and limited rear exposure the light piping in his eyes in next to useless.
Gears is very solid in both robot and vehicle mode and due so very highly recommended for even younger children (Gears is a great beginner/first Transformer), especially with his easy transformation. I don't think he's a must have for adult collectors unless you're a completist, obsess over G1 throwbacks, or maybe something about this figure just strikes you. Whatever you reason I wouldn't pay over 10 bucks for him, and due to him largely warming the pegs at most retailers that shouldn't be a problem. *Super Punch*

Transformers Universe Blackarachnia Review

Transformers Universe Blackarachnia
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If you didn't already know, Blackarachnia is repainted from an older figure (the 2000 Beast Machines Blackarachnia, to be precise.) In fact, the entire Universe line is comprised of repaints.
Oh, well.
Blackarachnia's robot mode is extremely well detailed, and offers plenty of articulation. However, the waist is somewhat flimsy and her hair tends to get in the way during transformation to spider mode. Spider mode is pretty good, but the front legs are rather small. I wish Hasbro had made them a little bigger. It can also be kind of hard to pose her in spider mode.
My biggest gripe about the toy is the paint job. The original version was purple with green spots and highlights; it looked pretty good, actually. But this version is purple and orange. It's just not visually attractive.
Another personal complaint I have is the Blackarachnia is a Decepticon. I like her better as a Maximal/Autobot, darn it.
Well, if you missed out on Blackarachnia back in 2000, here's your chance to get another one (albiet a somewhat less attractive version).

Transformers Movie Series 2 Deluxe Class 6 Inch Tall Robot Action Figure - Decepticon THRUST with Spinning Gattling Cannon (Vehicle Mode : Fighter Jet)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Bought it after seeing various screenshots and was worth every penny. Jet mode looks great, though kinda lacking in some details. Transformation was the most interesting part that involves most of the jet itself, resulting in a robot with all jet parts being prominent. Robot mode has great poseability and a very unique appearance, though the head can be frustrating since it's tucked in the cockpit so much that it's difficult to see. The gun gimmick is simple, but a nice touch that doesn't detract anything from the figure. The figure also felt rather tough and durable with each joint requiring some force to move, which is a good thing since it adds to the precision of posing the figure.

Transformers 2 - Figure - Mini Vehicle Performance Optimus Prime Review

Transformers 2 - Figure - Mini Vehicle Performance Optimus Prime
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
It's great to see some Transformers cars come out as die-cast vehicles. Since the cartoon in the 80s, collectors have wanted to see these sitting besides other movie Matchbox, Johnny Lightning, Corgi and other manufacturers on the shelf vehicles, so good on Hasbro for doing this. Would also love for Hasbro to release the original 80s Japanamation versions as well. At the moment the ones available are all from one of the two movies. The Optimus Prime semi cab is probably the best of the small number of characters released, although Ironhide is very well done as well! There is no scale written on the packaging but I would guess it's 1:55 (1:64 is your standard mass produced Matchbox and Hot Wheel sized car). I own a lot of the Matchbox 1:64 Convoy trucks and Optimus is slightly taller and longer than those cabs. There's really not a lot of difference, if you only have 1:64 scaled vehicles in your collection, these Transformers cars won't look out of place.
You can also get Optimus in a two pack as well as this single. Surprisingly in the stores it is actually cheaper to buy them singly but as they leave the physical stores and are only available online, he may be cheaper to obtain that way, especially if you want the other characters as well. The packaging is great too by the way, if you are a collector who likes to keep your vehicles in their original packaging you can see the entire vehicle, including the undercarriage without opening the blister pack at all.
It's really only the fact that Hasbro chose the cheaper option of making these out of plastic that lowers the overall rating. The plastic makes them a lot less durable than your typical Matchbox and other brands vehicle and considering Transformers fight each other and are involved in a lot of action scenes, you'd think this factor would have come to mind when Hasbro thought about how kids would play with these. Not that I'm too sure how attractive these are too kids when you consider they don't transform at all into robots and you can get key ring sized actual transformers for around the same price on the shelves next to these in the stores. These vehicles sort of remind me of that scene in the old Tom Hanks movie Big, where upon seeing a prototype for a new toy that is a robot that changes into a building, Tom's character (who is really a 13 year old kid in an adults body) tells everyone, "why would a kid want that when there are so many other robots that transport into cool stuff like planes, cars etc". Anyway what I'm getting at is I think these appeal more to people like me who are collectors, which is why it's a little bit silly that they're made out of plastic as that's why a lot of collectors aren't buying these.
Optimus is incidentally the only vehicle that has been released as a die-cast car outside of this range, you could get the truck in a limited edition pack of the Transformers Movie Hasbro Die-Cast Titanium Figure Optimus Prime which was sold in Big W (Australia), Target (USA) and probably elsewhere. That die cast semi looked slightly better and is also more durable, made of stronger titanium plastic than this, you might want to investigate that one if Optimus is all you are after. It doesn't have a picture of the robot underneath on the undercarriage though.
Of course you can't buy Optimus without also buying his arch nemeses Megatron as well!
