(More customer reviews)I've always had a problem with plane transformers. Almost all of them have the robot completely transformed underneath, and their transformation is pretty much just straightening out the limbs. The Fallen, however, shirks this type of transformation with an alt-mode that does a great job of hiding everything and looks like a alien spaceship. A lot of people have come down on this toy hard for the fact that the spaceship doesn't really look like anything we've seen, but to me, thats kinda the point. This guy is The Fallen; he doesn't care about blending in or disguising himself because he knows he cannot be defeated, so why would it matter if a puny human sees him? Heck, two of his stats on the box are infinite, and the rest are 10!
I am totally into The Fallen's character, so I was beyond impressed by his robot mode. It is immensely characterful and imminently pose-able. He's going to be in a constant state of crouching, but again, that fits his character. He's an ancient Decepticon, in fact he's the first Decepticon, so the fact that he looks nothing like any robot design we see today really makes this guy look absolutely terrifying. His paint scheme is aqua blue, deep purple, and black gives him a lot more personality than the pure black and red of his previous mold. His joints are for the most part very tight and solid, but a few required a round of super glue, and now they're perfect.
The only thing that is a knock against him is that his staff is made of the softest most bendable plastic i've ever seen. It tends to bend a lot, but it doesn't bother me too much since The Fallen is so dang awesome. Bottom line, if you see him for a good price (He was at my Wal-Mart for 19.99) grab him while you can. He's a wholly unique transformer, and my favorite Voyager by far.
