(More customer reviews)G1 Tracks is part of Hasbro's vast conspiracy to break me, a program which began more than a year ago with their excellent reissue of Optimus Prime. Since then I've picked up almost every G1 remake they've put out- including the focus of this review, "Autobot Tracks". Tracks is a small, blue C3 Corvette. What I like about the way Tracks is packaged is that none of the stickers (save for the roof-mounted rubsign) have been factory applied- and that includes the ugly flaming chicken-esque hood decal. Trust me, they're staying on the sheet. Like his contemporaries, Tracks has an incredibly detailed car mode. The grille, hood door, pop-up headlamp doors, "Stingray" vents, even the taillights and door handles have been molded in and all the signature curves of the later C3 Corvette are present. Because he shared his design with no other G1 Transformers figures, his transformation is unique. It's pretty involving but never confusing and it's like second nature after one try. Tracks is a pretty cool robot but you have to manipulate his feet perfectly in order to get him to stand straight. In my opinion he's got the most humanoid robot proportions of all the G1 figures reissued so far (except, of course, for the wings protruding from his shoulders). Tracks feels sturdy despite the fact that the only significant metal parts on him are his shins. Still, I wouldn't advise buying him for anyone who would treat the figure like a toy rather than a collectible.
